Bench of the Week #5

This Bench of the Week is from Cornell University. I think it's a very old bench. Inscribed on the back is the following message:

"TO THOSE WHO SHALL SIT HERE REJOICING, TO THOSE WHO SHALL SIT HERE MOURNING, SYMPATHY AND GREETING; SO WE HAVE DONE IN OUR TIME. 1892 A.D.W.- H.M.

I would assume that the A.D.W. stands for Andrew Dixon White the co-founder of Cornell University. I'm not sure of the H.M.

I like the bench as it reaches across time to speak to us today. It helps to put thing in perspective. It's a great bench for overlooking Cayuga Lake far below the University.

Bench of the Week #4

This bench holds a special place in my heart. It's one that my wife bought for the back yard. It's a glider so it can be slid back and forth while sitting in it. It's a great place to sit with a beer at the end of the day, and unwind.
