Epcot Family Photo

This photo was taken at Epcot. We were waiting to get into the park in the morning. This photo was taken from a very low angle to try and get the geodesic dome in the background.

Blue Heron

There's a funny story with this picture. A few years ago we were in Canada, and when we first arrived one of the kids told us that a blue heron had landed over near a stream. We very slowly approached it with a camera and took several photographs. (This being one of them.) We were very proud of ourselves. Later when the kids were fishing on the dock, the same heron landed right next to them. The heron the proceeded to eat the fish out of the bucket that the kids were putting them. It became very obvious the heron was very accustomed to people. I've never seen one do that before, or since.

The Photo was taken with a 35mm Canon EOS Rebel Camera.

Lake Lila, Adirondacks

This photo was taken on Lake Lila in the Adirondacks. It was a very calm day, and the canoes were tied to a fallen tree.

Bocce Ball

Perspective, Perspective, Perspective. As you can guess I really like the perspective of this photo. In the photograph, I set the camera in the grass next to a Bocce Ball, and guessed If I had the angle correct. I was lucky enough to have Judy walking by while the photo was being taken.

Black Eyed Susan

This photo was taken in the Summer of 2005 at my in-laws house. I believe the beauty of this photo is the flower itself. I find this to be a great photo to look at in the middle of the winter. I also like the old barn in the background. A neat contrast of the age of the barn with the newness of the flower.

Vatican Museum Stairs

This is the stair case leaving the Vatican Museum. I found the stairs very interesting, and thought it would make a great photo. An interesting thing happened on the way back from Roma. I was looking through a photo magazine, and somebody else had taken a similar photo, and published it in the magazine.

Roma Pantheon at Night

The Title says it all.

Roma via Appia Antica

This road way in Rome is near the catacombs. It was built round 300 BC. On our trip to Roma we rented bicycles and road along this road. These types of trees are all around Rome. The road surface makes it very difficult to ride bikes, so many people ride on the dirt paths along the edge.

Roma Colesseo

In April of 2005 my family had the opportunity to go to Italy. Our daughter had spent a semester in a study abroad program and had been their since January. This is actually 3 photo's stitched into one photo. Many pictures of the Colesseo are taken with a wide view lens. This one wasn't. I like the perspective of photo of this photo. It looks much better when it is printed poster size.

Dew Catcher, Peg's Pond, 2001

This is one of my favorite photos. We were camping at a friends pond as we do every summer for a weekend with friends. One morning there was a fog lifting from the pond, and this spider web had captured a lot of dew. I took several photos to attempt to get the light just right. This photo took first place in the Landscape and Nature category for the PAW print Cornell University Staff Photo contest in 2005.

This was taken with a Nikon 2 megapixel digital camera.
